The Ventura Public Art Program is pleased to announce a new Public Art opportunity. The P.L.A.C.E. Project (Public and Local Artists Creating Environments) is now accepting applications for a temporary outdoor art installation to be fabricated in conjunction with Ventura’s Spring 2008 ArtWalk. Artwork will be on display for approximately one month. Artists may propose a broad range of styles and mediums such as mixed media, sculpture, projection, and other unique artistic forms. This opportunity is open to artists located in all geographic regions. Artists may apply as individuals or teams. The total commission for this project is $7,000 including a design honorarium, fabrication, materials, insurance (if applicable), installation, educational workshop, travel expenses, and some incidental costs. ull details about how to apply and an application form can be found on our website: The P.L.A.C.E.
