Frank Stella: At Miami’s Gary Nader Gallery

Gary Nader fine art once again set the pace in the international art scene by presenting Frank Stella – Five Decades of Paintings and Sculpture during the celebration of Art Basel Miami Beach 2007 in December.

This is first exhibition of Stella to be showcased by a South Florida gallery with the purpose of examining the influential work of Frank Stella. The show brought together more than 35 works from different periods of Stella’s incessant experimentation and productivity. The exhibition provided new insight into Stella’s career and his development as one of the most influential postwar American artist. The exhibition changes our understanding of Stella’s work while offering a new perspective of his affluent career.

Fabiloa Santiago of the Miami Herald writes:

“Fans of abstract painter and sculptor Frank Stella can happily overdose on the master artist’s monumental sculptures at Gary Nader’s Wynwood gallery. Made from stainless steel, carbon fiber and painted aluminum, two of the works — Memantra (2005) and adjoeman (2004) — were exhibited last year on the rooftop of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Others are being shown for the first time, and came to Miami from Stella’s studio.”

Frank Stella- Five Decades of Paintings and Sculpture” is accompanied by a comprehensive catalogue by Gary Nader Editions. The catalogue contain reproductions of all Stella’s works as well as an updated biography of the artist. For more info go to www.garynader.com
